Temples oF bagan. near the city of bagan, theres around 2000 different temples who are left today. surviving wars, and the 1970's major earth quake that hit the area. there used to be over 4000 differnet temples around this area and this is by far one of the most impressive places ive seen during my year travel around Southeast Asia...

when beeing in Bagan although its abig no no of travel you must compare this to another greate place . ankor wat
i said in previous posts but il say it again here too

in angkor wat each temple is huge and impressive and interesting from both the inside and outside but you cannot get a full view of things since theres no high vantage point to take alook around , un like bagan where the temples in themselfs are not as interesting since they tend to be "same same" from the inside. but as soon as you hit one of the tops ... the view is amazing

they say that the 2000 stupas left are not even close to describe how this place used to be.. since scripts describe amongs the bricked structuers also wooden ones and tens of thouthands of tents and what not... thease 2000 stupas are the only thing that survived but there used to be alot more to the place.
now we can only imagin.
