Description

so, . 2 days work (one day try outs the second doing the whole thing. wouldnt normally take me 2 days but lack of time on each day was a problem.

shooting this is firstly intended to be a big print and i hope it comes out alright on a large scale canvas

even if it dosnt. im pretty happy with the results! its loads of fun when you can plan a picture and then take it and it comes out as you expected it too

how was it made?
well.. i can go on and on about how its made but then you might thing i came up with the method myself... but actually i followed through this awesome tut on how to make starstreaks :[link]

basically its taking 30seconds long exposures continuesly for an hour and after wardsputting them all together using photoshop (or that starstreaks software in the tutorial wich i didnt use cos i had abit of a mess taking the pictures but i assure you that it works GREATE)

photoshop crashed several times since the working file was 2.46Gigs... so i swiched to my dads MAC wich handlled it nicely (but not perfect :P ... ok ok it was like black magic. mac's are awesome)

why did i use this technique and not the normal long exposure?

simply because this area was strongly lit, with passing cars and Behind that tree theres a major city (Haifa) so any exposure longer then 10 minutes didnt work . since it came out over exposed the 30seconds exposures was a perfect sollution in this case

(keep in mind that "proper" long exposures gives you better stars in your pictuers)

and the circle effect come when shoting towards the polaris (northern star)

thats about all the info i can think about giving on this image. if you got any more questions feel free to ask me :D

Love it, nice double whammy of the lovely star trails and the light trails from the road.....I'm trying to learn how to do star trails myself so this is good inspiration :)
